On Friday, June 13, Hammersmith Management’s signature philanthropic event of the year, the 11th Annual Hammersmith Invitational Golf Tournament, delivered record results once again. Through vendor partnership and support, and as part of Hammersmith’s CommUNITY Care commitment, the 2014 tournament raised over $15,000 for the Denver Scholarship Foundation, this year’s beneficiary.

An outstanding event like this couldn’t take place without a premier venue, and Arrowhead Golf Club in Littleton provided that setting. Located in the foothills southwest of Denver, golfers enjoyed scenic views while playing in a 4-person scramble format. The day was filled with fun and festivities on the course as golfers had the opportunity to participate in games, win prizes, and visit with vendors who sponsored tents and hospitality booths at each tee box. Following golf, everyone was treated to lunch, an awards ceremony, and had the chance to bid on items in an impressive silent auction containing sports memorabilia, trips, and themed baskets.

“I’m so proud of how much this event has grown over the years and that each year we are able to raise more money,” said John Hammersmith, CEO, “Education is something our company highly values and is a key component of what makes team members at Hammersmith successful. Working with the Denver Scholarship Foundation, whose mission is education for Colorado’s youth is a wonderful partnership and is a great fit with Hammersmith and our core values.”

The Denver Scholarship Foundation inspires and empowers Denver Public Schools’ students to enroll in and graduate from postsecondary institutions of higher education, by providing the tools, knowledge, and financial resources essential for success.
